Our manufacturing process allows for extreme precision and versatility. Whether you’re making a tiny lapel pin or a large commemorative coin, here are the numbers:

Pin Coating and Finish Constraints
- Custom Enamel: We use a proprietary, plant-based enamel mixture. By mixing our own pigments, we eliminate petro-chemical binders and toxic additives.
Ongoing Research: We hope to also formulate a plant-based varnish that is high quality. However, making a non-plastic clearcoat that meets the necessary quality requirements may be a challenge to meet later.
- Colorspace Mapping: We currently use an approximate colorspace mapping (RGB to Enamel) to ensure vibrancy without the heavy environmental toll of traditional Pantone-based industrial paints. Also technically you need a licesne and that costs way too much money for literal colors.
- UV Protection: Finally every product is finished with a long-lasting, UV-resistant clear coat to prevent yellowing and protect the metal from oxidation. You can even repair this yourself at home meaning no need to order again.

2. Environmental & Safety Standards
Standard pin manufacturing is often a “dirty” industry. We’ve redesigned the process to be safe for our shop and the planet:
- Recyclable Alloys: We only use non-toxic, corrosion-resistant alloys that can be easily recycled.
- Clean Coatings: Zero chromium and zero chromates. We have completely eliminated these toxins from our processes.
- Breathable Air: We capture, neutralize, and safely dispose of all fumes and particulates from our coating stages. Don’t worry, we want the O-zone to still be there when we’re 50 too.
- Self-Mixed Paints: Our paints are plant-based and contain no cobalt dryers.
